Kara Castro
Born
in Michigan, Kara’s love of art and outstanding talent could be seen as early as childhood. While still in high school,
she began selling her artwork in art shows and galleries as well as to private collectors.
The artist's
paintings have earned her several “Best of Show” awards and continually gain recognition nation-wide. She is a
signature member of the California Watercolor Association and the recipient of the 2005 National Exhibition’s Gold Medal
Award. She is also the Art Kudos International 2007 Best of Show winner and The
Cheyenne Museum’s Art of the West’s 2005 First Place winner in watercolors.
Kara has also twice been a finalist in the prestigious Art Renewal Center’s International Competitions. Among
others, Kara’s work has been featured in Southwest Art, Watercolor Magic, American Artist’s, Watercolor,
International Artist, Art-Talk, Fine Arts Connoisseur Magazines, and Splash 12.
In 1989 the artist moved to California where she now
resides with her husband and children.
