Mixed Media Artist
Francisco Castro
Francisco has been creating and selling his pieces to private collectors for several years. His work is influenced by master artists like Picasso and Rauschenbergh as well as
by more contemporary artists like Elizabeth Murray and John Michel Basquiat.
“I see my work as a sort of visual diary; an expression of emotions and experiences that
I can’t necessarily share or find a way to put into words. Sometimes I
start out with an aesthetic idea for a piece but my mood or thoughts take it in another direction. The finished product is never what I started out trying to create.”
Francisco’s work was recently shown at the California State Capitol by invitation of Senator Deborah
Ortiz. He also placed 1st in KVIE’s Art Auction 2004 and 2006.
